SUMMARY:Learn With Technology: Day 4
DESCRIPTION:Learn with Technology\nA programme based on how students learn through quality teaching and learning experiences that are enhanced by technology.\nOne of the largest factors on a student’s learning is the teacher (Hattie\, 2009). On that claim\, Steve Dinham goes on to classify that; the better the teacher\, the better the learning. Therefore\, it is in a school’s best interest to engage with a teacher’s learning and engage in a Professional Learning Community. A quality teacher is the ‘great equaliser’ in a classroom and teacher development will help fulfil the goal to make “Best practice\, common practice” (Dinham\, 2016).\nWe have a four day series commencing in Term 2 that will focus on the research supporting the science of learning and how we can use technology to further enhance the impact of our teaching and student learning. The days will integrate the Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) as a point of reference to support and guide the use of technology. Resources created will be shared within the schools attending and as CEWA exemplars to guide others through the TIM levels. The programme will focus on what technology looks like for the students and will be aimed at teachers who want to increase their students’ capacity to learn with technology.\nDay One\n7th May\nDay Two\n23rd July\nDay Three\n10th September\nDay Four\n5th November\nBy participating in this programme\, attendees will:\n• Understand the research supporting integrating technology with best practice\n• Collaborate with other schools and staff in developing examples of best practice\n• Develop an understanding of high-impact teaching and learning practices\n• Opportunity to plan\, rehearse\, measure and reflect on technology enhanced teaching strategies\n• Share learning and resources with their school to develop capacity within the school\n• Implement measures to identify the impact of using technology with best practice and high-impact\nstrategies\n• Articulate the purpose of a technology rich lesson and link it to the TIM\n• Become critical users of technology in the classroom\n• Implement strategies to build student capacity in guiding and driving their own learning\nRegistration is available via the CEWA Professional Learning Portal. \nFor further information\, please contact Nicole Adams. \n
